The original J&V pizzeria is in bensonhurst on 64th and 18th avenue it's pretty good but with so many faves in that neighborhood I haven't eaten there in a long while.

Just had this...alas, their regular slices are mearly average. I was pretty excited about it too, as when I rolled up, the guy just pulled out a fresh hot pie from the oven. It looked amazing and expected greatness. However, the crust was sort of tough and not of much taste. The cheese was nice and gooey, but only ok tasting. And the sauce showed some signs of life, but not enough of it.
I had done some research and according to the Bensonhurst location, it looked like I should get the sicilian or grandma slices, but a fresh hot pie was too much to pass up on. Perhaps I will give it another shot for those other slices, but I'm sort of skeptical since the regular pie was so-so. Oh well.

Was down in 805 Third Ave. atrium today grabbing lunch at Sophies and noticed new(?) J & V Pizzeria. Claims to be famous from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn since 1950. Slices looked good. Anyone know anything about it?
