Awe. Congratulations on your new venture and Good Luck.
Also, nice way to rub it in that you'll be eating awesome cheap latin food where $3 bucks there would be a $20 meal out here :)

Congrats on Law School - I, too, am starting Law school this fall. Luckily, I'll be attending school in Brooklyn and keeping my job in Midtown, so my days will still consist of hunting for street meat.
I'm always happy to hear of others taking the law school plunge this year because the legal market is currently awful. If I'm going to be six-figures in debt without awful job prospects, I better not be alone.
My biggest fear is that my current paralegal salary will eclipse any offers I receive upon graduation. Oh, law school.

"...without awful job prospects..." is hereby revised to read, "...with awful job prospects..."

My favorite food cart is in Philly. Hemo's at 38th and Walnut (also on 36th and Spruce)

Once you get through law school, you will know to edit that "hereby" to read "heretofore and forthwith"! Good luck....

Hey, if Rudy can comment from across the ocean, you can manage to visit us occasionally! Good luck and enjoy a cheesesteak for me!
-
MMMM Geno's and Pats cheesesteaks!
maybe you can start a downtown philly lunch blog?
...too soon?
-
ahhhh law school...you'll end up 30 and marry a brit and move to shropshire and teach english!
-
Pat's is my number one cheesesteak choice but to be fair to it's fans, don't forget Jim's Steaks on South St.
Also, Lorenzo's on South St. for huge slices of pizza at 3 AM, whether you're finishing a late night brief or memo for LR&W or after pounding beers Plough and the Stars.

I always hit up Tony Luke's on Oregon (cheesesteak OR chicken cheesesteak--both awesome). But alas, there are no more ECW free-for-alls at Swan & Rittner.... *sigh*
-
*Swanson* & Ritner.....

I'm a huge Jim's fan too...
NOLA Steve... yea, it's pretty bad... my firm keeps letting attorneys go. Maybe you'll luck out and get an offer for one of the firms that's been paying their first years to defer their first year... $80k to NOT work as opposed to $160 to give up your life... I'd take it.

I'm always down for Jim's Steaks on South Street too in Philly (my go-to for a philly cheesesteak). I didn't really like Pat's or Geno's when I had them. I've also enjoyed Steve's Prince of Steaks. Have fun exploring! And good luck with your journey through the wonders of law.
Wow to the 80g deferment (I remember hearing about that in the news). Who wouldn't want to sit at home than to suffer in servitude?

Last week was my last week of working and lunching in midtown. I'm heading out to Central America tomorrow for two weeks and then its off to Philly for law school. Is it possible to go cold turkey and quit midtown lunch? It probably would behoove me to do so and to focus on my studies. Someone please yell at me next month if I start commenting too often and tell me to hit the books. I'm afraid that while eating full Nicaraguan meals for $3 I'll be worried about what free midtown deals I am missing out on. Thanks for all of your Philly food suggestions. My free time will be devoted to checking them out and writing about it. I am really going to miss being a midtown luncher. Behave yourselves.
