Try Pearl Diner. It's only a few blocks north on Pearl Street... right behind the NYSC. Greasy spoon diner.
Great, now I want pancakes
***I've never had the pancakes but they have a regular diner menu, and the BF had French toast there once that he liked well enough - not mindblowing but sufficient for a diner

Thanks Yvo. I went to fresco to go and got some decent pancakes for $4.50. They'd be better if they didn't come in an airtight container which made them a little soggy by the time i brought them back to work. They also make "crunchy french toast" but apparently were out of it by the time i got there.

A related rec: Apparently IHOP is having their AYCE pancake special again for about $5. Worth the trip up to Harlem (135th and Adam Clayton Powell, 1 block from the 2/3 train)

And if you go to the right place in Harlem, you can get a special little green $10 garnish with your eggs. It ain't at IHOP, but it ain't far from there....

Whoa, Zach dissed the IHOP rec in today's Forums recap. Ouch. I still crave IHOP pancakes, and AYCE is still worth the trip IMO. $10 garnish? You must shop at the discount places! ;^)

Kitchenette, on Amsterdam between 122 & 123 has the BEST breakfast food around. Kinda like a fancy Cracker-Barrel, I guess?
Their creme-brulee french toast is to die for. Enjoy!
