hmmmm. and how would you know this, dean? lol. i'm sure you've done both while receiving delicious bulgogi.
hey, if Lamar Odom can eat chocolate in bed, the rest of us can eat bulgogi, kalbi, or whatever in bed.

oh and to answer yvo's question about the method of making beggar's chicken...
i've made it three times but only once using the campfire coals. and it was pitch black when i made it so i might have kept it in there too long (by Chinese standards anyway).
instead of clay i used aluminum foil covered with a mixture of flour, salt, and a tiny bit of water -- just enough to get it to a gritty clay consistency. pretty sure i used the entire container of salt (which was like 59cents at the local college mart)
i don't remember the recipe but the marinade had garlic, dark & light soy sauce, 5-spice, whole star anise, ginger, and a pinch of sugar. oh and chinese cooking wine. i also stuffed it with pickled mustard greens.
it was pretty much like a master sauce they use for soy sauce chicken. but for some reason it ended up tasting like costco rotisserie chicken...
As for the cooking method... I basically kept it in the fire until it turned rock hard, turning it with a branch i found. and then when it started squirting out juices, i pulled it out.

"and then when it started squirting out juices, i pulled it out."
