wait. slice? like the 'traditional' pie shape with the crust on top and bottom? i could definitely bury my face into some pie in the morning.

Sorry- I meant sice as in spinach pie... layers of flaky pastry, with a filling

Spanakopita. Gotcha.
Are they making it with phyllo or puff pastry?

I tried it the week before last - it was made with phyllo and I tried the spinach and the leek. Leek was delicious, the spinach was extremely oniony. Extremely. Both a bit soggy, but I think that's kind of unavoidable. All the meat stuff was gone by the time I was there, around 1:30.

I tried it a few days ago. That spanakopita is the real deal and it's real good! I highly recommend!

They sell a few billion more and the debt will be gone, lol

The spinach pie is awesome! You can totally taste they are homemade. Tried the chicken pie today based on the Greek lady's recommendation, it was hearty and delicious.

@vdubjb: but reported taxable income on that will only be like 10 euros

I don't think I saw this mentioned here before- forgive meif it was already discussed, but I noticed a breakfast cart on 47th and Park (NorthWest corner)that had delicious looking Greek pies for lunch- all different kinds of spinach and vegetable option, and some with meat- for $4-5 a slice. Looked yummy- sign said all homemade.
Anyone tried?
