Today I had leftover pasta. Originally made with basil, smashed garlic cloves, tomato sauce, linguini, hot italian sausage, a bit of jalapeno and red bell pepper.
BUT: I toasted 2 slices of sourdough bread with pepper jack cheese and made a sandwich out of it. Carb on carb with sausage action covered in cheese. Fucking decadent! It helped that I was hungover when I made it. HA!

Wow...
I am currently drinking a Diet Coke
and about to eat a chocolate chip bacon cookie. Also, I had my very first quesadilla today, from a cart, for lunch.
-
The wife just picked up two mini pies from Little Pie Company (on 43rd btw. 9+10th.) I have to smell that place every single day on may way into Midtown. Very excited to finally get to taste...
-
Cold draft Yeungling right now, will soon be cooking up a 1/3-pound fatty melt (burger between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches) using genuine Wonder Bread with smoked gouda in one and sharp cheddar in the other, and a swirl of wasabi mayo. Which will be accompanied by another Yeungling.
-
I just finished snacking on leftover Cheddar flavored Kettle Chips I didn't finish from lunch today. Natural potato chips. ;P
-
It's just gone 2pm im sat in a 600 year old pub in a village called Loggerheads in shropshire...waiting for a game terrine(Pheasant, pigeon, venison, rabbit and bacon) with a Spring green salad. And a very Cold pint of Perry (Pear Cider).
Life is a Bitch.
-
Must you always rub it in Rudy? MUST YOU!!
Ha ha!Just came back from Red Hook where I had a juicy goat taco with salsa verde, and split a cheese haurache with spicy pork, guac, pico de gallo and salsa. Need a nap now....
-
Just finished a hot slice of artichoke pizza (from Artichoke Pizza, of course). And the fatty melt was great, but I decided to go with straight cheddar on both sides.
-
I went beyond the conventional fatty melt for MemDay breakfast with my new eggburger. A 1/3-lb sirloin patty between 2 slices of "bird-in-a-hole" (tear a slightly-larger-than-egg-sized hole in a piece of bread--eat the middle--and butter it, place on a skillet, drop an egg in the hole, and cook on both sides), with 2 slices of american cheese and a squirt of sriracha sauce. Burger, egg, cheese, spicy--yummy!
BTW, for this burger the yolk was cooked through--you don't want it running!
-
That sounds friggin' awesome. Now I'm starving.
-
I always want my yolk running.
-
Yvo: Not when there's no bread between your fingers and the middle of the egg-centered 'bun'! (I suppose the yolks could be runny, and you *could* use a knife and fork on the burger.... on second thought, HELL NO! Burger=hand food!!!!)
I ended my MemDay weekend last night with yet another burger. This one I can heartily recommend. I was in Whole Foods and on a whim I picked up a couple of fresh Curry Lamb Burgers, with shredded carrots, raisins, cilantro, and curry powder. These patties were *extremely* tasty--ate mine on plain toasted bread. And 2 7-oz patties for under $7 is a steal.
-
lol, if I'm going to eat something like that, I'm going all out messy style. A fried egg with a fully cooked yolk means it wasn't cooked properly :)
Steven, I think you eat the way I'd like to, all the time.
-
Perhaps, except that I have no grill here in Manhattan, alas. But the kitchen is only about 30 feet from my office.
-
Steven, all those sound delicious!
The next ML event needs to be hosted at your place!!!And Yvo, I'm with you honey. I love the yoke all oozy. I'll make a mess out of myself, but I don't mind licking my fingers ;-)
-
Without Reference to Mama licking her fingers..
I had Chik tikka no sauce, thai pappaya salad, and a cold Guinness.
And my Waitress was a lovely Australian girl whom's arse looked like two puppies fighting in a Duvet.
-
I just had the Chicken teriyaki from Biryani cart, for the second time this week. It's outstanding for only $5.50. If they don't take the Vendy's this year, I'm calling BS.
-
(homemade) portobello quesadilla, sour cream/salsa on the side, and basil/garlic green beans.
-
Finished that off with some GIANT CHEETOS ftw
-
Just had myself a turkey-spinach-cheese omelet on a toasted poppy-seed bagel. ZzZzZzZzZ.
-
I'm back bringing lunch from home... sigh
http://feistybento.blogspot.com -
Sushi from Hakata...goooood stuff!!
-
kimbap from woorijip and a side of spinach.
-
rice and beans from Sophie's Cuban with a side of Tostones.
-
Yet another fresh-grilled burger, a "demi-fattymelt" (grilled cheese on one side only) with egg and sriracha.
-
And now there's no line at all at Shake Shack. Coulda run out for a quick Shack Stack. *sigh*
-
And made me cry...
So I totally blew off my packed lunch and am (finally) eating the pan-fried beef baguette from the banh mi cart (mentioned in the other thread). Mmm. A little too spicy for me. Damn it. *guzzles Vietnamese iced coffee*
-
my free donut (boston creme!) from dunkin donuts!
-
Alfanoose... "best falafel in the city" - not sure I agree.
-
chicken vindaloo from brick lane house curry
-
8 pm....why don't kids(especially twin girls) never eat pizza crusts?
Watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Fries.
This Chiantti clissico...total waste on pizza.
I recon Harry should dump Ginny for Hermione.
-
What...? Dare you suggest destroying the bromance between Harry and the Weasley kid?
I don't think that is in Harry's future. J.K. Rowling has forged a character that is destined to eternally suffer from both inner and outer demons, all the while aspiring to a higher calling, thus undermining his ability to maintain a traditional relationship with a woman.
This doesn't mean that Harry can't take Hermione beyond the courtyard at Hogwarts and show her his magic wand underneath a moonlit sky one night, however.
Havin' Chex Mix and a chilled green tea over here...
-
Fried oyster po-boy, cole slaw, and house made red sangria.... there might be a shot of whiskey and a soda back in my near future, as I have a relatives visiting and they have already been sleeping in my small apartment for over 6 days. :-(
-
8:30 pm cold cuts of welsh mountain cattle fillet, piccalily, Gherkins (pickles to you U droppers)....and for some strange reason a glass of guinness.
t'be sure.
-
A Melissa Munchie from Johny's: hot roast beef, sauteed mushrooms, mozzarella and onion rings on garlic bread. mmmmm....
-
Overpriced, tiny and bland steak and potato wrap from Yankee stadium premium dining service for 12 bucks. At least the overpriced ten dollar 24 oz draft beers were cold and refreshing enough to wash the taste of it away. Should have just stuck with a slice of pizza or dirty water dogs from outside the stadium.
-
Why are you at the stadium at 12:15 on a day when not only are the Yankees not playing till 7... they're playing in BOSTON?
Just, y'know, curious. -
YVO, my bad, wanted to send this from my buddy's netbook when we were at the game. I should have prefaced it this "Last night . . ."
Maybe I shouldn't have bothered but I wanted to get the word out to anyone to save their 12 bucks and spend it on overpriced stadium beer!
-
I just ate a horrible slice of Sicilian pizza. I've decided to marry stevenp so that I never have to cook or fend for myself again.

A thread to randomly and at any point (weekday, night or weekends)
to just post about what you are eating.
Doesn't matter if it's a home cooked meal, take out, in Manhattan or the other boroughs, or even if it's leftovers. Recipes are welcomed too and also random thoughts on food and life.
Let's get this forum started!
