Great start to the Philly forums. I went to UPenn, where I first fell in love food carts, and then moved to NYC 8 years ago. Hemo's is indeed one of the best of both cities. His pita bread is always super-fresh and fluffy and his meat is always really well cooked and very juicy. Any freshman living in the Quad must visit Hemo's ASAP.

I've always preferred the egg and cheese (with hemo's sauce!!!) to his chicken. If you notice, he uses pre-cooked breasts. Those grill marks are not his. IMHO, the single best chicken sandwich on campus is the chicken everything from House of Hanan. Chicken, hummus, feta cheese, and falafel smooshed together with lettuce, tomato, and wrapped in a lahvash. MMMM...

Wow, that good, huh? Is there any difference between the two cart locations?

Hemo's is quite overrated guys. The consistency of the chicken he serves is very bizarre. It tastes very premade and processed... instead I would recommend the chicken sandwich at Lyn's (36th and Spruce) ["Grilled Chicken on a long roll with onions and honey mustard"] or Steak Queen (38th and Locust) ["Chicken Cheesesteak with onions and honey mustard"] for a larger, better quality chicken sandwich. Also, the honey mustard at Steak Queen is nearly identical to Hemo's sauce.
@Jamie: Hemo himself works at the cart on Spruce. Other than that, not much difference, maybe the 38th Street cart is open on Saturdays, I don't recall.

Thought I'd make the first post on the Philly forum with my favorite cart -- Hemo's has two locations on Penn's campus: 36th & Spruce and 38th & Walnut.
I recommend the grilled chicken with spinach, tomato, and Hemo Sauce. I haven't been able to find a Manhattan cart that measures up.
