Wow, there really isn't anything there... it's either high end restaurants and lounges to the south of you, fast food to the east of you, or pickings from the Hudson river.
I'll bet you're sick to death of takeout from Grand Sichuan by now. :(

@Noreaster: I would love to be able to cover all of downtown better, but there are days when I don't have time to leave the FiDi for lunch (that's where I work). What kind of food are you looking for?

If you stick within a 7 block radius, you have a ton of options in the Bleecker range. MacDougal alone should keep you busy. If you like streetmeat, you'll never go near it again after having the Doner Kebab @ Yatagans. There are a few felafel shops there as well, and my coworkers love the indian restaurants in that area but I havent had a chance to try them (my job relocated to W.Bway btw Spring&Broome 3 weeks ago).

I work in SoHo as well, although a bit SE of you (Ave of Americas btw Watts and Grand). My favorites, in no particular order, are Alidoro, Papatzul, Mooncake and Cafe Cubana. Ok, they may actually be in that order.

Oh, don't forget Blind Tiger Ale House... good wings. Bleecker and Jones I think.
-
Scrody, we're neighbors it seems. You're like two blocks away.
I second Mooncake. It's probably my favorite lunch here. Though it's just under the ML price range of $10, you'd be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck. The braised beef shins (I guess it's a beef shank...) is a humongous blob of wonderful gelatinous beef (served with 3 tortillas which arent enough for all the beef). The lunches come with some type of jalapeno sauce (I think I need to ask for more though), not as good as the Aji from peruvian or cuban places, but it's still pretty good. The steak sandwich is huge too. You could probably stretch these things into 2 meals.
Anyone in the area been to Pao (A portugese restaurant a few blocks west)? It's high on my queue of places to go.
-
Hmm, Pao is walking distance from my office. I'm curious about it though it certainly is at the top end of ML range.

How's bout the Ear Inn? see you're in the new Hudson square nabe.

Ack. My company just moved to Hudson and King, and there is nothing short of a dearth of places to get chow around here. Any chance of reviewing more places around this area? There are a bunch of office buildings in these parts, so I'm sure there are many like me who struggle daily with the limited food options nearby. Thanks!
