The cart next to Kwik Meal (run by the guys brother) makes a pretty healthy chicken and rice platter. The white rice is not greasy and the chicken is not fatty. Get it without the white sauce and extra green chili sauce.
Ranch One on 46th and 5th makes a healthy grilled chicken plater with brown rice and steamed vegetables. Get it with terriyaki or bbq sauce....good stuff

I am definitely in the minority around here, but I love The Pump. It's hearty, healthy and tasty. They finally put all their nutrition info on their website, so you really know what you're getting.

You can head over to carnegie john's and get a chicken platter without the rice.

If you still want a quick cart lunch, the stuff at 99% vegetarian is good and the guys are really friendly. http://midtownlunch.com/2010/02/25/healthy-vegetarian-cart-now-99-vegetarian/

Comme Ci has lemon chicken, cous cous, and grilled veggies. Just ask for that combo and he'll hook you up. He was very accommodating with off the menu orders, my request to get the grilled veggies on my kofta was no problem.

Energy Kitchen is always a healthy option. Kinda like Pump, but not as extreme and actually tasty and reasonably priced.

I like The Local Store. They're cheap and use lots of vegies on their sandwiches.

For low carb I usually do one of the following:
1) Madeline Catering always has an incredible spread of fresh grilled veggies (eggplant, squash, peppers, asparagus, etc.). They grill them so they are tender w/a nice charred flavor. You can pair the grilled veggies with whatever beef/chicken entree they've prepared for the day. They will double up on the veggies if you tell them to skip the rice/potatoes.
2) Go to your favorite street meet cart and have them serve the chicken on top of a salad. Just say no to the white sauce :(
3) Chinese buffets like the one at Hing Won have great choices. I load up on the sauteed bok choy and watercress and go for a few proteins (fish, beef, chicken). Just watch out for the sauces - many of them have a ton of sodium and/or sugar.

While I do love food from carts, pizza, burgers, subs, pasta and all that good stuff...I've been trying to find healthier lunch options for midtown lunch. Excluding places like Free Foods and salad places. Anyone have a hot spot they love where a guy can get some nice grilled chicken with veggies, or just anything that isn't going to pile on tons of carbs or a whole day of calories in once lunch?
Thanks!
