Okay, how about they move it to where Kim's and Biryani Cart's block is (46th and 6th). HAHA. That street could use the bulgogi. ;P
If they don't feel like going back to 50th, they can always pick another street that needs their services and feels more welcoming.
-
And sign up for Twitter so everyone knows where they are at all times.
-
TC, no! thats farther for me to go! haha...i already have to walk down to 45th and 6th to get my Taiwanese fried chicken!
come back to 50th & 6th!!! =)
well, i mean, either way, just come back to midtown!
-
Loco, I work on E. 50th and Lex. so walking to 45th and 6th is actually further away for me too than 50th and 6th. Haha. I'm a trooper though and do not mind the brisk walk. I just want them to come back so everyone can enjoy their fried fish and I can have their bulgogi in my weekly rotation. Hahaha. If they feel 50th and 6th is a hostile environment, then they should consider picking friendlier grounds. Like how about right next to the sweet Treats Truck then? Mr. Softee can't do squat about korean food. lol.
-
i'm already trying to lobby for her truck to come towards the east side.... we don't have any good carts around here except for the one Mexican cart on 60th and 3rd (I can't remember the name now for some reason)..
you guys west of 5th have all the good places... we need some more on our side..
-
Haha. That's fine by me too. It'll be closer to my office. lol.
That's the El Rey Del Sabor cart on 60th.
-
that cart used to park right in front of my building... it would suck if they had to move elsewhere in midtown... but i'm willing to take a trek somewhere else if need be
-
Seconding a twitter feed!

Maybe I'm watching too much Burn Notice, but there's no reason the cart purveyors should stand for this nonsense.
Would it be possible to get a few large, imposing friends/relatives to "guard" the cart for a day or two? Each should be armed with a camera. If anyone tries to threaten the cart again, take their picture and tell them that if they see them again, the police will be called and you will do what you can to have them arrested. If they get violent or menacing, take your cell out and start dialing. But that's where the large/imposing friends come in handy. Restrain them and call the cops. That should make them back off.

Yea I agree with offbalance. If El Rey stood up to Raq-crappy's, Happy Well can stand their ground against those pathetic halal carts that don't get much serious business anyway.
However, if no large people are available to help, a move to a safe haven/ another street is ideal too. Please bring back the cart to Midtown in whatever form fashionable. Haha. -
There are plenty of open corners for us denizens below 42st St. Ever since the hot soup guy disappeared from 41st and Park a few years ago there has been a void that the dirty water dog vendor and a fruit shake guy can't fill.
-
I'm a big guy, available during the day, own a camera, and volunteer to help the Happy cart if asked.

soooo, anyone hear from them lately? how are they doing downtown? where are they downtown anyways? and is there ever any SLIVER of a chance they come back to midtown?
