Where in midtown do you work?
-
Just go to Jimmy's corner
-
500 50th Ave. Thanks Mama!
-
and by 50th, I mean 5th.
-
Vegetarian. Poor. Classic cocktails. No burgers. There is no help for a crowd like that.
-
I haven't been here yet, but it sounds like a good place for you. There's quesadillas/nachos for the vegetarians.. probably some other options too

If you go please report back!

And no 80s music! Gasp! How un-fun!
-
Has been suggested. Anyone been?
-
I would suggest heading to Rudy's, and trying to convert the guy with cheap beer and free hot dogs!!!
-
BenBen, are you nuts? Ignoring the fact that I like to keep Jimmy's Corner to myself, that place is too damn small to go with more than one person. If you're lucky you can get one of the 2-4 person tables in the back, so it's really not a great place for a farewell.
-
Marsain, seems pretty expensive, and you said you aren't a bunch of highrollers.
-
Oh, Marisa-in-Midtown. I thought it was Marisain...
-
I wasn't serious and I too try and keep that place under wraps.

I don't drink much...in Midtown. ;)
I have read Mamacita's posts religiously, and just checked through them again before posting this in the forums. I'm looking for a great happy hour deal (we all work in publishing = not highrollers) and the occasion is a farewell party for one of our favorite coworkers. So, I'd like it to be a comfortable place to chat for a while and a nice ambiance. We like classic cocktails and the coworker is a vegetarian musician. That rules out bad 80s music and burgers.
Any help guys?
