Happy Hour: 12/29/09

Yvo

Where should we have happy hour http://midtownlunch.com/forums/topic/ml-happy-hour-23 ?
Should goats be allowed to get a mini-pig, or a goat, or should Max be enough?
Are mini-pigs even really mini since they can grow to 200 lbs?

Okay... go!

Dave, thank you for saying that, I didn't want to pull the "I'm a princess" card and be all "If the tables are sticky, I'm not going to have a good time" but well there it is.

Aaaaanyway, StreetMeas, I think it's sadder when goats feeds the pig a bit of pork. You know it'll happen.

im gonna put my midtown east 2 cents down here -

BXL East - 53rd bw 2nd and 3rd - plenty of beers on tap and by the bottle. kinda bright inside, not many happy hour specials, but a leffe brune will cost u $6

Stag's Head - tons of craft beers. again, not the best specials, but a lot of interesting beers.

just thought that considering this was a "midtown lunch" happy hour, we might actually drink in midtown. :)

monstermooch - does that mean you'll be joining us?

Bear in mind, the organizer/suggester works downtown ;P lol but I am totally open to wherever...

    ooh. haha. didn't realize. :)

if all things go as planned, yes i'll be joining.

As long as you don't feed your pig bacon. Mad pig disease?

What? Goats sounds like a responsible pet owner. I mean he already not going to eat him. He wouldn't induce pig cannibalism to his lil porker. Would he? More likely eating three meals of pork (like bacon, sausage, ham, and pork chops) would scare the crap outta the little guy. Maybe that will keep him tiny. Scared out of a healthy appetite and can't get big...

I second the 1849 nomination. A few reasons: Draft beers and well drinks are half-price ($3) until 8pm (all day Sun-Mon). Tasty 20-cent wings 3-6 pm (all day Sun/Mon/Wed). $7 pitchers on Wed. Draft beers include Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Blue Point Toasted Lager, Yeungling, Blue Moon, some wheat beer, etc. Their nachos are huge, tasty, and very well-made.

It's a cozy bar atmosphere, with lots of low tables in front and upstairs seating (that I've never checked out).

It's on Bleecker near Sullivan, close to the B/D/F/V/C/E at W 4th, the 6 at Bleecker, R/W at Prince, 1 at Houston.

Oh yeah: I just saw that the date has been fixed for the 29th (Tues)--1849 has $2 Coronas and $2 Cuervo shots after 8pm. Win.

  9. StreetMeasOnsumer3008

    Oh $2 coronas. Sounds great!
And Yvo has been raving about their wings. Too bad no 20-cent wings on Tues.

    I know this is wrong:

  11. Yvo

It's been a year or so since I've been, but the wings were pretty damn good every time I went.

Hungry, that's the afterparty. ;) Please join us for the party too...

StreetMezzon: They have 20-cent wings on Tuesday (every day in fact!) from 3-6 pm. There are a few days where they run all day/night as well. And they are really solid.

  13. StreetMeasOnsumer3008

Yea, I saw their everyday 3-6pm special but that means I gots to be there before 6pm to devour wings early on. Will see. I don't know if I will make it in time. If I do, maybe I need to skip lunch that day. I don't want a bowl full of jelly for the holidays.

remember there's the unlimited katsu, fried chicken and beer/wine at 3rd floor cafe. Bang for your buck
