Does this mean the Korean soup guy is gone from that spot (SW corner, more or less), or did he just shift focus?
-
There was a cart there for a while serving korean food that sucked (small portions, lukewarm food, ~$8), so hopefully this one is better.
-
Just tried them...basically the same as before...kalbi rice platter for $8, on the lukewarm side, comes with way too much rice, or more precisely, not nearly enough meat/flavor and a measly side salad of shredded cabbage. Hungry unless I finish the other half of the rice that's left. Will not be back.

Almost went there today after seeing them across the street from the Halal Guys. Glad you took an unbiased bullet for the team.

They do have udon soup...can't remember but think it's $7. An order of fried dumplings is $4, and they have a bulgolgi or kalbi sandwich for $6. Maybe those are better options, but I'll wait some time before trying them.

i think is the new owner now..today i had the bulkoki sandwich again..addicted...is nice to have other option than halal food...
-
so its no longer BapCha?
-
BapCha was on 48th or 49th I thought.
-
They had an offshoot/satellite location on 52/6 (UBS), where they did just the ramen, udon and other noodles.
-
Today I order the bulgogi sandwich taste great .... Maybe next time I will try spicy chicken rice
-
the one in front of UBS building is 'gobuki' now...slightly different food than bapcha..i went there today at 3pm want to eat sandwich but no more...huh i'll come early next time..

I'm eating at GOBUKI cart almost everyday now. My FAVE menu is fried udon with spicy chicken on top, last Friday I tried his Bulgogi Sandwich - addictively good! My new spot for lunch, even though I have to walk 5 blocks to get there
-
Decided what the heck, for $7 I can try the Spicy Chicken (over rice). Decent amount of chicken, ordered extra spicy, which just means more Gobuki sauce, which is a sweet-hot near-paste; not particularly spicy, but flavorful enough to make eating the plain white rice less of a chore. Small cabbage salad, can't really say much about cole slaw and Russian dressing.
Basically, this dish is a different take on halal-cart chicken over rice, with a flame grill for the chicken. I'll give a couple more dishes a try, as it's not half-bad.
The udon soup is $6, the fried udon thing is $7.
