93 Plates? Reminds me of an old song: "where never was heard a discouraging word..." Don't bite the hand that gives you all that free food and all...
Not a fan. I like my reviews at least ostensibly unbiased.

Hah, yeah I haven't been reading everything, but it was some free tasty desserts. I'm a fan of the butterscotch pecan bar, and Kim is a sweet lady.

93 Plates--Brings to mind some shabbily-dressed person sitting on the sidewalk, holding a laptop with this on the screen: "Will blog favorably for food"
-
Hah, not to badmouth a person I just met, but from what I heard of the "story" behind it, that sort of sums it up.

Hope you had a nice time, Emme.
I'm a fan of her brownies and cookies. Anything chocolate, I will eat off her truck. ;P
The peanut butter sandwiches are good too. -
It was fun, and I love the butterscotch pecan bar, the caramel creme trucker, the pumpkin cake and the peanut butter sammich. I'm not insane for chocolate, so her brownies are usually a bit rich for me. But it was a nice break from work and a good sugar rush for my boring afternoon. :)

I was blown away by the butterscotch bar since I didn't think I liked butterscotch... Kim is awesome, too bad they stopped parking downtown, but also good... for my waistline.
@stevenp, do you think all the bloggers that go with him then also do the same?

Yvo--I see what you did there. ;^) No, no, no. The whole '93 Plates' site is obnoxiously gushing, if you read through the reviews. At least there is an acknowledgment of the 'donated' meals. For some 'foundation' I never heard of that really is set up for nothing more than to promote local restaurants. I've read many of the food blogs from the writers who hooked up with the Wandering Mooch^h^h^Foodie for free meals, and at least they tell it like it is, good or bad.
Yes, I am a bit bitter because I wish I had thought of this scam first so I could get a month's worth of decent meals for free. I can write really nice praise about food too, y'know. But seriously, the "93 Plates" bs is distinctly different from the genuine food blogs I tend to frequent, where the bloggers pay their own way (at least most of the time) and write their honest opinions, good OR BAD.
The short answer you were looking for: no, Yvo, you're not one of "them"!

Haha thanks :P I didn't think I was, but I like other people to give me reality checks every once in a while :)

Last minute plans, and I'm having "lunch" with Hagan of 93 Plates at Treats Truck. I've had TT a few times, but after seeing how much this guy has at every meal (particularly that Bouchon trip with Yvo), I can't imagine how hard I'll crash in about two hours.
Any must-try recommendations in the next ten minutes?
