Dean and Deluca on 56th btwn 5th and 6th makes an apple cheesecake fritter. I dont know where the cheesecake comes in, but it is basically a GIANT sprawling donut with little bits of apple and a sugar glaze. Its maybe $3 but has to be a good 2500 calories of fried dough and sugar. Big enough for 4 people.

doughnut plant has great doughnuts but they taste great fresh so i think it's worth the trip downtown. if you can't go downtown, oren's and joe the art of coffee both sell them in midtown.

So.. i'm not a big doughnut guy... just one here and there, but I've never craved a doughnut...
but this weekend, I went to Craft and had the doughnuts for the first time.... my God they were good... sweet, with some cinnamon.. soft.. fluffy... i mean.. they were perfect...
if i could get some doughnuts like that in midtown (or anywhere else where i don't have to sit through a whole meal to get there), that would be awesome... favorite doughnut places??
