Diet Dr. Pepper/Cherry Coke Zero for less than $2?

I work in the Conde Naste building and have recently developed a taste for Cherry Coke Zero and Diet Dr. Pepper, but I haven’t found anywhere nearby with the former, and for the latter, the only place I’ve found is the Hudson News thing in the bottom of our building, where it’s TWO DOLLARS for a bottle. Today I tried exploring other options, and actually landed somewhere where the bottle cost $2.16. Ridiculous! Does anyone have leads on cheaper DDP or CCZ in the neighborhood? Cans or bottles or even fountain soda would all work for me.

Dude, any corner bodega will have them. Can't say how much they will charge but 2 bucks for a 20 oz is what the DRs are charging I believe--at least the ones down in the 30s/20s.

Go for the larger sizes. 1.5 liters? Sometimes DR puts them in the front which means they are heavily discounted. Whenever that happens I fill my desk up with 1.5 liter bottles for about $2.00.

I know Cafe Duke down Broadway has Cherry Coke Zero cans, and I *think* DDP too. They make up the prices on the spot, so they might be good option if you get them on a good day.

If you work in the ugly half of the Conde Nast building then 1460 has vending machines on the 6th floor that have $1.00 16oz Coke Zeros too.

Steve do you work in 1460?

D:, not when I can help it. Anyway, grabbed sobe noodles from Duke today and can confirm both DDP and CCZ cans for today's price of $1.25.

    Small world.

  9. steveroller: Does the ugly half mean the non-Conde half? If so I guess I'm out of luck, but that sounds like an awesome deal!

$1.25 for a can of soda? Maybe I'm just getting old, but that seems outlandish.

Yes. Sorry, can't help with the time machine.

In the city, cans for 1.25 and 20oz for $2 are both very common. Even at Duane Reade/ Walgreens, and newsstands charge those prices. You might as well buy a 2 ltr bottle instead.

My office vends the 20oz at 1.25 though. Good deal. Too bad I don't really drink soda during the work week.
