Is that a special or has it always been on the menu? It sounds freakin' awesome.

I'm still partial to Hill Country. It's easier to get to than Daisy May's. Their ribs are $11/lb (but of course that comes with a hunk of bone).

I think it has always been on the menu but often overlooked b/c it is the most expensive item and beef ribs don't get nearly the play of the more popular pork/baby back ribs. Here is a link I just found. The pictures are a true representation of what I got yesterday.

WOW. Alright, I'm there. And apparently, someone out there DOES like that creamed spinach!

I really hope beef ribs don't surge in popularity. There's not a lot of rib meat available on an animal, and I'm tired of all the cheap cuts of meat surging in price because of popularity. Flank used to cost half that of sirloin or rib eye and now it's the same price. Leave my rib meat alone!

I have this thing for short ribs. I do love a good beef rib but it's been a long time because they are pretty ginormous... mmm. Fred Flintstone ain't got nuttin on me

A show on the Food Network called 'The Best Thing I Ever Ate' profiled the Oklahoma Jumbo Beef Rib at Daisy May's on 11th Ave. I went yesterday for lunch and tried it.
This thing is awesome! You get over a pound of rib meat on a bone that measures somewhere between 8-12 inches long. It is cooked 'slow and low' and the meat is so tender it falls of the bone and can be cut with a plastic fork. The BBQ sauce, burnt ends, and moist fatty meat make for a great combination.
It's a bit out of the way (46th and 11th) and, yes, at $18.00 it is way above the ML price point. But for $21.00, you get to add two sides and I assure you that it is a meal for two. I ate 1/2 there and took the other half home for dinner and can honestly say that it was a very well spent $21.00.
