Coolhaus

Anyone know when the Coolhaus ice cream truck will be back in Midtown?

    Went to the Coolhaus truck today on 50th between 6th and 7th and spent 45 MINUTES waiting between 3:45 and 4:30 for my ice cream sandwich. It was delcious, but the service is HORRIBLY inefficient. They only had one guy on the truck (there is room for at least 3) doing everything. When the people in front of me asked why he didn't have help, he said it was a cost-cutting measure. The line crawled to say the least. I saw at least 5-10 people leave the line or decline to wait due to the long line and slowness of the line. Plus the guy tried so hard to be sanitary, wearing one glove and not touching the food with his ungloved hand that he used to handle money, but of course that is difficult and I saw him handle food with the ungloved hand and money with his gloved hand. He also told me the truck ran out of water to wash his hands. This is such a great truck and I hope they get their act together soon.

    thats pretty sad and disappointing. its not like they're new to the food truck game. they have an existing truck in LA. i guess it just goes to show that no one is ever prepared for what midtown can do to a truck. i, too, hope they get their act together soon.

    @CheeeeEEEEse, that is a very good question. It became one of those situations where I had already waited a certain amount of time and didn't want to give up. Then it kept getting longer and longer and I would probably have felt worse leaving the line. But the ice cream and cookies were absolutely delicious, so at least I waited for something good.

    So let me ask this? If the lines are hellish and you want to do the AUCE challenge, do you have to wait in line TWICE to get paid back??? Anyone do this yet?
