College Care Package

Ohhh some nice coffee and tea, some baked goods or chocolate, and since this is an imaginary package to 18 year old me, I would also put in a couple of those vegetarian instant "Big Cup" noodle soups

in addition to the baked goods, instant noodles, tea, condoms and red bull (find out if they prefer regular or sugar free) , condoms I'd add the following
20 dollar starbucks card or if they have a coffee maker some good ground coffee or a visa gift card they can use to spend on pizza or take-out food
five pound of gummy bears/sour patch kids/M & Ms/ etc.
a bunch of healthy junk like dried apples/apricots/raisins/cran-raisins/trail mix/wasabe peas/sesame mix/almonds/cashews/etc.
a few bags of beef jerky or dried salami
microwave popcorn
those microwavable chef boyardee pasta things or mac n cheese
a pack of clean socks/t-shirts/boxers (if they're a dude, probably too lazy to want to do laundry during finals)
big bag of nachos and can/jar of salsa, cheese or bean dip
cigarettes if they smoke or if they were like me, started to smoke during finals to take the edge off

cant for get the medicine. (advil, tylenol, allergy meds)

Maybe because i am asian, i'd put boxes and boxes of spicy hot instant ramen soup with a small pot...and one of those electric hot stove top.

Mountain Dew and Cup O' Noodles...or Fruit/Juice and Lean Cuisines for those health-nuts.
A Subway's gift card doesn't hurt if you want them to eat healthier outside of campus. Maybe a Taco Bell gift card or a pack of laxatives - either is effective. -
If they don't have a hot pot, definitely send one. There's nothing like having hot tea or ramen in your room at 2am. Ditto the beef jerky. M&Ms are nice cuz it's just a little bit of chocolate. Almonds & peanuts.
The Starbucks gift card is a GREAT idea. I would've loved that.

A case of Starbuck's frappucinos, for those late nights. A half oz, so that studying self could fall asleep quickly, and a batch of weed cookies, for late night snacking (also to help studying self fall asleep quickly)...

and i forgot, I'd also put tons of chop sticks.
i am not a fan of starbucks so i usually give my gift certificates away. -
Half ounce? Why did I think you were talking about blow, that's not measured in ounces is it.

Also... in this case... for a female, so no boxers, lol, but that is pretty smart... since some guys probably don't wash their brand new boxers before they wear them, and probably college guys don't.

In all seriousness, I don't remember studying that hard in college, but law school exams brough out my norwegian fisherman's diet of chocolate, cigarettes and black coffee, and the occasional frappucino... I would just send a Mr. Coffee, a case of hershey bars and a carton of smokes.

Goats some people need to study and some don't. Some people are smart and some aren't. :) The two aren't mutually exclusive, either - I know smart people who need to study.
And yeah, that's how I figured you didn't mean blow...
Man, whoever receives this care package is going to get SO fat, huh?

I disagree with that statement... I know plenty of people who are smart and still need to study. It depends on lots of variables.

I am not criticizing studying--I just remember college being fairly easy compared to law school. I think in college, I studied one night before for most tests, whereas law school I'd be prepping for a month prior to the exam....

You know I just thought of this and I would never had made it through school without one, a nice new baseball hat (or hat of their choice) of their school/favorite team/whatever, so they could just roll out of bed that morning and head straight to classroom where an early morning exam is being held.

and one of the big lanyard keychains with the school name on it so they can wear their keys around their neck.

Steve, I'm not above hitting someone wearing glasses. Ironic seeing as you're basically kicking a puppy after someone already stepped on it, and usually it's the guys with glasses who understand how that feels. Maybe you need a reminder.

If you were going to send 18 year old you a care package for studying for all those exams, what would you put in it?
***Let's just pretend you actually studied in college. So none of that '6 packs of beer' and '20bags' etc.
