I did ask you adamprato: any suggestions of a similar place? I work at 45th and Lex...
When I'm tired of Cipriani everyday I try the sandwiches at Amish Market (45th btw 2nd and 3rd) or at Bôi (3rd ave btw 44th & 45th)- both less than $10 - or the salads and sandwiches at Gente (45th and Lex). That might be more than $10, I'm not sure. -
dpolizzi, it's just friendly banter. We're hazing you. Toughening you up in case you find yourself backed into a corner by Doc Chuck :)

understood... :)
I'm Italian with less than a year in NY and I must say that I'm still not used to the 15 minutes lunch standing by a street cart and the food there is indeed something that I'm very familiar with.
Just thought I should share this here as, even though the place is always (too) packed, your certainly do not hear many people speaking English... -
... nor whatever language goats speaks... :)

I don't speak that fancy talk you Cipriani folk call banter....down here, we speak "street meat." grunts and pointing.

I wonder if dpolizzi being Italian that your idea of portion size might be different from ours. I'm guessing some of these guys can easily pack down those "large" meals without a belly ache or coma afterwards.

I couldn't be more surprised after finding that Cipriani Le Specialità was not mentioned anywhere in this website...
Is by far the best quick food in Midtown and a great cost-benefit ratio. The large meals are more than enough for two for $14 - the small ones for $11 I must admit that are not quite as cost effective.
Their menu (changes everyday) includes filet mignon, shrimp dishes, great risottos and exceptional pastas.
I eat there everyday...
