I know you asked for either an italian or Irish but...here are two that I know.
Rolf's restaurant..it's a german restaurant in Gramercy area. They are known for their crazy Christmas holiday decor..(it truly is amazing) but not so much for food.
I remember St. Andrew's Scottish restaurant in midtown west having a nice festive decor during christmas time but someone needs to confirm on this.
you can see men in skirt ..lol.can't really go wrong. -
good luck getting in...i reccomend a lunch.

What, to Rolf's, KC? I admit I haven't been in a couple of years, but has it gotten ridiculously tough to get a reservation during the holiday season?
I'd sit at the bar instead, but the beer prices are outrageous, even for a restaurant.

Everything about Rolfs is stupidly expensive and mediocre. Plus, all the lights are bound to give you seizures the second you walk inside.

thanks for your comments - appreciate them.
yes, I used to go to Rolfs many years ago and I loved it; decorations, beer and dinner...when I went a few years ago, the food was sparse; they ran out of red cabbage, can you believe that, at a German restaurant..and the prices high....I noticed that there were different people running the restaurant...
I'm going to check out St. Andrews...thanks again. -
yes dave, so difficult to get in to...

Hi --- I live a few hours from the city so only get there occasionally - I'd love to go to a restaurant that is very "Christmasy" in decoration to get the Spirit of the Holiday --- and to dine and enjoy a good meal --- and have fun.... music would be nice too...
Any recommendations? Thanks so much!
