Chicken Pot Pie Soup

Bistro on 51st has Chicken Pot Pie soup today. Mmmm. It's pretty good but they don't have it very often.

Does anyone know another spot for it?

Also, my company cafeteria makes it, and it's nt bad. They put chuncks of crust in. Bistro does not. So I wonder what people preference is:

Chicken Pot Pie Soup - chunks of 'crust' in the soup? Or not?

Also - does any place around midtown serve actual pot pies?

It needs chunks of crust. Otherwise, it's just thick fat-noodle chicken soup. BTW, this sounds really good....

The Daily Soup on 54th between Broadway and 8th has a Chicken Pot Pie Soup. I think its a daily soup but maybe not. Its always there when I go in. They put a cheesy puff pastry disc on top after they scoop it.

as always, i'm a huge proponent for soup adaptations of solid food so... yum!

although this seems like a pretty weak transition. isn't CPP already soupy?

to answer your question, pretty much all of the diners and pubs in midtown sell cpp. they're all out of ML range pricewise.

Devon and Blakely does a decent one, although their chicken & dumplings is better. Most of the generic salad/sandwich/soup joints do one every now and again.

  5. Got an alert from Hale N Hearty in Rock Center that today was Chicken Pot Pie day. Finally!

I hurried down there and grabbed a large and a large shrimp and crab with lentil for a co-worker.

    What a disappointment.

The chicken pot pie is nicely thick with a good amount of veggies and shredded chicken. No crust that I can see, but I've only had a couple of spoonfuls.

And that's all I'm having. This stuff is NASTY. It has some kind of fishy taste to it. In the trash.

My co-workers crab and shrimp is not bad, according to him. It would be better if it actually had some crab and more than a few shreds of shrimp.

I guess sometimes you have to go back to places you don't go to very often, just to remind yourself why you never go there. Like McDs or Dominos. Hale N Hearty is one of those places for me. The pot pie is gross, the crab is thin, the standard chicken soup I recall not caring for, and the chili I tried today while waiting for my soup was 'B' grade at best. Done with them for a while.

Oh yeah, the supervisor on duty was kind of a bitch when I had the nerve to ask about a sandwich they "hadn't brought out yet."

Please, can I get a good chicken pot pie soup near Rock Center?
