Not sure about the brown rice, but the Imposter or famous halal guys at 53rd & 6th will adjust the rice to salad ratio for me. Normally its 3 huge spoonfuls of rice to 1 tongful of salad. They'll give me half the tin filled with salad and a half a spoonful of rice. I'm not deluding myself into thinking that it will now pass for a diet platter, but every little bit helps.

You don't say where you are located...
100% Halal & Healthy on the NW Corner of 55th & Park has brown rice. Ask for their special homemade hot sauce, if you like hot sauce.
Quik Meal carts used to have brown rice. Haven't been in a year or so.

"In or near Midtown." Cool! 55th and park is kind of a hike, but good to know. And I'm sure I've seen Kwik Meal carts around my neighborhood, so I'll ask. Thanks for the tip.

East side of 55th and 6th right by the LOVE statue is a cart called Kebab Express that has brown basmati that is delicious. Their chicken and rice is decent (and sometimes come with a french fry and falafel ball) but their kebab's are glorious.

There are number of issues to eat food as halal haram and specially in European countries.. The reason is that there are number of Muslims, Christian and Hindu as well.

I've had brown rice at the Trini-Pak and Biryani carts

Hi there. Long-time follower, first-time poster.
I am addicted to your standard chicken-over-rice, commonly found at just about any of the Halal carts in NYC. I'm wondering, though - does anyone know of a cart (in or near Midtown) that offers this same simple dish, but with BROWN rice instead of the usual yellow, white, or even basmati?
Just trying to put a (barely) healthy spin on a dish I'm already hooked on.
Thanking you in advance,
- P
