Finally opened this week. They renamed it 'Essen (but the bags still say "Cafe Today". Pretty much as expected generic deli. Although tries to be a little upscale in the vain of Toasties and Dishes. But it has everything you'd expect - grill, deli, salad bar, sushi, by-the-pound buffet, etc.
If anyone finds anything worth trying in there, feel free to let us know.

Probably just another generic deli, but anyone have any details on the coming soon "Cafe Today" on 53rd between Park and Madison. Quick google search found this article in Crains, but not much detail:
