BV's Burger Letdown

hungry

I just had a very disappointing burger from BV's. Not only did I have to wait a 1/2 hour for my order, it also came out wrong. Okay, you may think it was crowded and a wait was warranted. Well, I was the 3rd person to order. The 2 guys in front of me got their orders quickly and left. People who ordered after me got their orders and left as well. And I didn't order anything weird. I had the cheeseburger platter (cheeseburger, fries, onion rings). In fact, I saw other orders fly out with the exact same food items. The only different is the packaging. One guy offered me free chili as I waited. I declined.

So when I returned to my desk to eat it, I was very sorry to find that the burger was well done even though I had ordered it medium rare. It was just bad on top of bad.

    they just forgot about you...period

  3. When this happens...don't people go back to the counter and ask for updates on their orders? Sometimes people forget. It happens. I mean...just go back up to the servers and ask them about your food. Also, if there are any mistakes, I let them know even if I left the store. I go right back and let them see my face too.

I don't agree with people who go up their yelling or do this two seconds after placing their order, but in my experience it's been pretty ok. If they still are doing this even after then you better make sure you complain to the management.

@5DollarQueen: I did speak up twice during my wait. I was told at both times that it was coming right away.

  6. The part of the story I don't get is declining free food. you totally lost me there

  7. @hungry: Oh yeah then it's time to find a manager...

  8. I posted in an earlier thread that they messed up a big order, and when I complained the manager stepped up, took responsibility, and offered a fix that went way above and beyond the cost of the mess up.

In my view, here's the deal: 1) they probably aren't fully ready for the big boost that Midtown Lunch has given them 2) they should reduce the menu to just burgers, dogs, chili, fries, and onion rings. 3) they need to lose the burger heaven model, or cooking the burgers 1/4 of the way, and then finishing them off to order. they ultiamtely overcook them that way. 4) The food quality is superior, and as soon as they get on board with the changes to their business, it will be a top notch Midtown Lunch spot.
