Booooooo! Up a $1? ;P Good luck with that $7 plate then. I'd rather eat Popeyes. For 4.50 + 1.95, I'd be up one pork chop or one chicken leg at Wah Mei. Haha. No dumplings isn't a loss.

  2. This is a problem. I enjoy going to the Cravings truck on Friday afternoons, and $6 really doesn't bother me that much. Seriously though? $7 They've got to be out of their minds. Chicken does not cost that much.

  3. agreed... not going at that price... will wait for the weekends to go elsewhere (or maybe try Wah Mei)

Yea, I only want their fried chicken w. rice on Fridays anyway. I might as well travel to Wah Mei. Extra chicken leg or extra pork chop for a better price. Heck, I might even have to consider eating that $7 burger over this. Haha.

Speaking of which, is the Popeyes on 40th street closed down? I used to work by there and it was a great haven for yummy chicken and red beans/rice.

I went last Friday and they were still open. Hopefully they can stay in business and their 1.99 for 2 pieces and biscuit deal stays around too. It was da bomb!

Is $1 really that big of a deal? I'm not sure how Wah Mei factors in since you'll have to tip the guy well enough to be worth the delivery. I'm sure if he gets a consistently shitty tip, that Wah Mei will find it tough to keep a delivery guy that would go to midtown.

That said, I can't argue the popeyes logic :)

Well unlike the group ordering, it'll likely be only me eating fried chicken/ pork chops from Wah Mei so it's only a subway ride away...unless I convince my co-workers and friends to eat this more often. No tip involved, just subway off my unlimited monthly and on a Friday, no big deal to go to chinatown for lunch. If not, Popeyes it is!!!

$1 isn't a lot of money but when halal will only run you $5-6 and there are other options I can eat for 7, it kinda is. The specials at 53rd Gourmet Deli's at 875 3rd Ave. are only 6.75-6.95 (my fav. now is their cheesesteak w. fries) and you get a cookie, fruit salad or jello, and a can soda. That definitely beats the pants off of fried chicken w. rice. Don't get me wrong. I like NYC Cravings but there's better deals to be had. HAHAHA.

  9. yeah.. while $1 isn't a lot of money.. it opens up a lot more "alternatives" when you get to $7...
