FWIW, I've gotten sick on movie theater popcorn before. The stuff they coat the popcorn with when popping can go rancid. I got a handful of rancid popcorn midway through a bag and stopped. Next day I was reeling.

I've eaten there a number of times and never had a problem. I always thought deep fried foods like chicken fingers and mozz sticks were generally safer from food poisoning because the heat kills all the nasty stuff but your story makes me now doubt this theory.
-
@adam, oh I guess maybe it was the popcorn then.
-
I shoudl also add my g/f, who ate the majority of the popcorn, was fine. No issues at all. She had no chicken or mozz. But I also agree that deep frying anything would kill bacteria...and the chicken seemed cooked through....
-
Or it was the 1-2-punch that took you out.
As for frying to kill off the nasty stuff:

Wow. That was disturbing. BLEACH!!??? That's f'ing poison! I hope they didn't bleach my chicken, though the group I was with may have rubbed the staff the wrong way with their pushiness, as the kitchen HAD closed when we got there.....Ugh....it all makes sense---kind of....

Yuk, no wings for lunch today, maybe dinner though.
-
I think deep fried stuff can go rancid if the oil goes bad or something...?
-
Very true Yvo---could have been the oil as well (I REALLY f'ing hope it wasn't bleach or any other cleaning product....)Now I'm all freaked out!

My bf has gotten sick a few times from eating movie theater popcorn & drinking fruit punch - something about the combination turns his stomach, though mine is fine, and I'll eat/drink the same. Also, it could be the excessive amount of oil total - popcorn oil/butter then oil in the fried foods - if I have too much oil, I definitely feel very ill afterwards, sometimes leading to similar symptoms as you've described (sorry).
Hope you're feeling better or feel better soon.
-
Thanks Yvo! Perhaps the Milano Special will cure me---or make me have to go home for the rest fo the day....I'm gonna roll the dice and find out.
-
Goats, all kidding aside, I would seriously consider going home and seeing a doctor. The only time I can legitimately say I had food poisoning (from NJ mall sushi, never again), I didn't even realize it and waited a day or two before seeing a doctor which only extended the misery.

Thanks Dubya. If it continues, I'll be calling my good friend this afternoon--a GI out of the city in Monroe. Right now, I think I am on the mend--but if things take a turn for the worse, I'll heed your advice. I've had food poisoning before and this case is mild relatively speaking---the other times, I've been crawling around in cold sweats chanting the Janes Addiction intro to Ritual....repeatedly. Fun times!

Has anybody had food issues there? I went there last night and pounded some mixed drinks, and then chowed down on some chicken fingers and mozz sticks. I woke up at 6 am with violent cramps, and proceeded to expell from all ends! I wasn't hungover mind you, but I definitely felt poisoned. I suppose it oculd have been the movie theatre popcorn I ate beforehand, but I highly doubt it....
