Biryani Cart

Disclosure: First time trying them and it was about 6pm when I got there.

They ran out of kati rolls so I got one Mix to share with milady. The gyro meat was spongy, mushy, and a little cold. There were some raw pieces of chicken as well...

So... was I:

a) having some bad luck?
b) a victim of hype?
c) ignorant to their 'cooking style?'

Also, dude was irked I was waiting in line while he was trying to mack on some girl who already got her food. Maybe that's why I got raw meat from the 'quickly dismiss so you can resume kickin' it to ms. cleavage' pile.

  3. I went to Biryani Cart a couple weeks ago when it was raining (thus no lines). I ordered the chicken tikka masala with rice. The rice was wet and mushy. They didn't give me the pickled mango or whatever that thing is. Basterds.

  4. I am Indian and have not had good or consistent experiences with Biriyani Cart either.

Well Biriyani Cart when Meru is cooking (during lunch) is definitely better than Biriyani Cart without Meru. Also, even though they advertise themselves as being "the best Indian food in Midtown" I think it's wrong to think of them as straight up Indian food. (The guys who run it are from Bangladesh...)
