Best Times Sq Falafel?

Just leave time square and go to Mamouns.
Locations: 119 MacDougal St and 22 St. Marks Place

Mamoun's is not great. certainly not worth traveling that far.
I work on 52 and 6th. When I want a really good falafel, I walk to Azuri Cafe. 51st st. between 9th and 10th, Near 10th avenue.

If you don't like Mahmoun's (and I agree with Beege in that it basically kills your falafel cred) you might want to wait out on Taim Mobile to come around. I didn't think their falafel was crispy like Mahmoun's, instead more flavorful and mushing well with the rest of the sandwich.
Maoz will fill you up for decently cheap. Good middle ground if you don't mind that it's a chain, but they're at least not an evil chain.
I haven't tried Crisp but heard good things.

Screw that! Best falafal is downtown at Sam's, in Zucotti Park. I went today, seriously! Love that falafal. 4 bucks for a sandwich, 6 for a platter. HUMONGOUS! AWESOME! SUpport poor Sam's who's busines is hurting b/c of OWS!

The Crisp on Wheels Truck! There usually on 49th and 6th on Tuesdays...

When near Times Sq., Maoz is an decent option.
Crisp is a pricier option. I like it but cannot go often. -
Meze Grill is an option even if they only provide 3 falafels for each order.

Because I don't think Mamoun's is that good, I've lost falafel cred? Give me a break. I've had Mamoun's so many times over the years. It is the first place I ever had falafel. Hell, I even have a Mamoun's t-shirt. It's great when you've been out drinking, but since then I've had so many better sandwiches. Oasis in Williamburg is much better than Mamoun's. Taim is also way way better.
But the thing I like about Taim and Azuri is that they both have Israeli salad and tahini and a whole mess of other delicious flavors.Mamoun's is boring. It's just a pita, falafel balls, sauce and lettuce and tomato. Once you start adding pickles and cabbage to the mix it is a much tastier meal.
