hmmmm that sounds good... did it have a line like Sam's?
and I am beginning to like platters better because the pitas are not standing up to the food inside!

I stopped by Adel's for the first time recently (walking by that flashing LED sign enough times piqued my curiosity) to try their lamb and rice.
It was okay (the hot sauce as mentioned above... very hot) but what surprised me was the little falafel ball that was dropped in. I believe it had a bit of a citrus kick, which surprised me. I made a mental note to go back for the falafel, and lo and behold, here's a comment about it! I'll definitely try it out next time I'm there.
Have you tried the cart just outside of Whole Foods on Greenwich? I can't figure out their rice... way too savory for my taste, it's the first cart I decided I couldn't go back to.

Awesome! The tahini and hummus are freshly-made, no out of a squirt bottle white sauce garbage! The falafel had a peppery kick to me but was not impressed by the hot sauce - wasn't very hot and was very watery with a vinegar like quality. Best $5 lunch ever!

LanceKalp, what are you talking about? Is this SPAM or are you trying to get us to click on your links and have malware infect our computers???

Sams is 6 bucks for a platter, and you get more than 8 falafal. I've gotten between 12-15. Plus hummus, baba ghanoush, grape leafs, and pita. You can easily make 2 hearty sandwiches out of sams platter. I know the line can be long, but i personhally think it is worth it. While Taim may have the best tasting falafal in the City, Sam's is the best value...

I don't suppose any of these downtown falafel guys are open late? Sam's, Adel's, any others? I often pass through there LATE on my way to the WTC PATH....

$5 gets you 8 crispy falafel over yellow rice, salad, tahini, hummus, some awesome carmelized egglant pieces (if you don't get them ask) and some super spicy hot sauce. An old-school gem amidst all the trendy trucks in the area. It's a ton of great tasting food for $5, on Water and Old Slip.
Any others in the $5 range?
