Banh Mi @ Pret

I may be behind the times, but my local Pret now carries something called a "Vietnamese Sandwich," obviously loosely inspired by a Banh Mi. I tried it out and was happy to see it chock full of cilantro, carrots, and what appeared to be pickled radish? Offensively, it also contained chicken instead of pork, and for some unknown reason, grilled red peppers. More offensively, I think I really enjoyed it. Anyone else try it out and have thoughts?

    Interesting!

Did it have the appropriate sauces on it? If not, I'm not gonna try it. =)

I tried it. Banh Mi doesn't have to have pork. Chicken is fine. Heck, Baoguette's signature is catfish. The classic/ pork is usually my fav. choice though.

The Pret Viet sandwich was okay. Not bad but nothing special either.

    According to their site:
Murray's Grilled Chicken, Sweet Chili Dressing, Roasted Red Peppers, Daikon, Cilantro, Pret's Baguette

  3. StreetMeas-- You're right. I actually have had the chicken banh mi from Nicky's and remember enjoying it.
