WIns? WINGS! But ok, Buffalo FTW! ;p
I'm curious about Manny's on Second (the other Blondies that changed ownership) - how are their wings now?

Only so that all the info is in one spot.
Dakota Roadhouse - http://www.yelp.com/biz/dakota-roadhouse-new-york
I'm partial to the wings at Judge Roy Bean since their fresh, but there's nothing special about them, and rather than raise their prices, they stiff you on one piece of wing half (you get 7 wing halves instead of 8), but I still like em out of loyalty.

did you have the Honey Hot wings at Croxley? If not, it isn't a true reflection of the place. they are A+ and A++ when then are only 20 cents each.

i think he's going for a more canonical buffalo wing, not just any sauced wing.
butter + cayenne hot sauce on bread-less (or at most lightly dusted) drummettes and flats. croxley's are decent wings but the hot sauce lacks flavor and they're not crispy enough.

i see, you are all purists! fine!

thank! i have been called that before.

Oops! Blew the thread title and find myself sans noodle. Any help from a mod here? Mama?
I've had all the types at Croxley's. I recall they charge extra for the honey hot ones (which is lame). And as both deanlo and I mentioned above, the wings at Croxley, although big, are always undercooked. Buffalo wings (or any good wings) have to be a bit crispy. The soft, oily skin does not cut it. These are not A+ or even A wings.

Thx mmct! Had Wogies wings yesterday (buffalo). I'd rate them an A-. Very good traditional wings, decently cooked, but not great. I still need to try their garlic and parmesan wings (for variety). Their cheesesteaks are great, tho.

Hop Devil Grill insists their wings are the best in NYC, just like every other place with wings in NYC. Blind Tiger's smell awesome, but I think I've had exactly one in my life.
I did get a 3lb package of wings to test my own skills on Sunday. Guess I should try to eat them all in under an hour.

As a wing lover myself, I STILL haven't tried the wings from Dinosaur.
I love the Dallas wings, but ONLY at the 72nd St location (they seem to do it the best there).
Pluck-U's close to me since it's simple but delicious (spiciness-wise).Lion's Head (up near Columbia) has some great wings; you go there Saturday from 12 to 6 for the Saturday Special ($20 = unlimited beer and wings).
Also, why is Bro Jimmy's not on this list?

How can you hate on Atomic wings? Their Hot wings are by far the best hot wings in the city (BBQ wings has to go to Dinosaur). Big meaty wings with a strong, bold flavor. Very sad that you would group these with Pluck U.

Atomic Wings goes from an A- to a C in my book because of their lame, watery blue cheese dip.

Are there any A+ buffalo wings in NYC? Scruffy Duffy's had them until they closed. Here are my grades for other wing places FYI:
1849: A; slightly breaded, but meaty with great sauce. @20 cents/ea, hard to beat
Blondies: B/B-; many people like these undercooked, too-oily wings with thin/boring sauce
Pluck U/Atomic: B; standard 'chain' wings, not meaty enough and boring sauce, despite levels of heat
Dinosaur: A/A+ ('non-Buffalo' category); very meaty, awesome bbq flavor, good to the last bite.
Croxley's: B/B+; meaty wings but undercooked; cheap but boring.
Dallas BBQ: B; breaded, but huge whole wings--don't let them get cold.
Off the Wagon, Dukes: B/B-; standard sub-par bar wings
So, an better wings to try? (Don't try to convince me that Blondies wings are great-I have taste buds!)
