About the Biryani truck

My favorite thing from the biryani cart is the kati rolls, though I've never had them anywhere else. I also tried the chicken tika yesterday, which was really good.

@dbug42 - same here. tried the pune, the king kati, and the spicy buradi.
what's everyone's fave kati roll from the biryani cart?

King Koti (ask for it to be real spicy if you can dig) and Chennai Roll (MmMmMm sweet chili) are my favs.
Kati Rolls are def. the way to go at Biryani Cart. I've had their rice dishes and they are okay overall, but I go back for their kati rolls, especially if it's dinnertime.

Zach likes the chennai roll, which is very good. But the most recent time I had it it was overly sweet. The king kati was great though.

I get the two kati rolls (usually a chennai and veggie) then I get a half order of veg biryani. Comes out at $9 and it's really filling. May have to go there tomorrow for this because just writing about it makes me crave it!

I tried it last week for the first time. Mostly because it's a little bit of a walk for my lazy self, but also because I have access to much better biryani elsewhere.
To all those who only have had biryani from the cart, you're missing out on some really good birayni. Don't get me wrong, it was good for a food cart, especially for the price but there are better places (Handi for one). Actually, one of my favorite places is in NJ - Shanawaz palace buffet, overall a very good buffet and only open on the weekends. They have literally every thing. Every thing.
Anyways, I make my own biryani and its very simple as long as you have the right ingredients (need to go to to an indo-pak store). My version is mild and not too spicy, as I prefer it that way.
And then there is pulao...
