Cafe Duke (51st btw 6 & 7) is usually a pretty reliable generic deli type place with korean food options.
go to 51st & 7th is Jamaican Dutchy.
50th btw 6 & 7 has been a food truck mecca lately, trucks will vary on different days, though i think DesiTruck is a normal fixture at that spot.theres the famous halal guys on 53rd & 6th (SE CORNER!!), but of course theres the SW corner for the imposters. NW corner of 52nd & 6th (ex-shendys) is also run by the famous guys.
for chinese, Hing Won is def the place to go to (if you dont mind the numerous DOH shutdowns). 48th btw 5&6.
and then you have the Rock Center Concourse, with Pret, Tri-tip grill, lenny's, yummy sushi, Concina, etc. i'm sure there's plenty i'm missing, or just have never gone to.

Great name!
I work on 51st & 7th. For Halal, definitely go to the famous Halal guys. They now have 3 carts during lunch. The main one is 53th &6th (SE corner). There is also an annex on 52nd & 6th (NW corner). You can't miss the big Yellow signs on the carts.
Cafe Dukes has great korean & their flatbread oven backed sandwhiches are pretty good. That's on 51st bwtn 6th & 7th.
There have been some issues lately, but between 6th & 7th, along 50,51,&52 streets are usually some good food trucks. It changes daily.
I also like Toasties on 49th & 7th.
Hin Won you probably know, along with Byrani Cart? If you can swing a walk to 55th & 7th, hit up Carnegie Johns cart. -
**meant to say oven-baked.
I would endorse all of @Locondcoc's suggestions (aside from the repeats) -
Awesome, thanks! If the printer wasn't in a box to be moved, I would be printing this list right now :-)

In terms of food cards, Jamaican Dutchy and Biryani are the best around (since Taim got kicked out of the neighb) If you have time to walk a little, Two Boots pizza on 9th and 44th and Yakitori Totto for their great lunch deal on 56th off 8th ave are both great. Financier on 48th bet. 6th and bway has great sandwiches, soups and desserts. Thalia, Sosa Borella and Mi Nidito (all on 8th ave) are good for sit down lunches. Pure on 9th is tasty Thai. and Carnegie Deli is definitely within walking distance if you have a cold and need matzoh ball soup.

In addition to what's already been posted, I'll add a few more as well (I work at 51st & 7th)
1) For good Indian food, i like Minar 46th bet 6th-7th
2) Right next door to Minar is Margon, a real well known place for Cuban/Dominican food.
3) For Korean I like the BapCha cart on 49th bet 6th - 7th or Bann next door (50th bet 8th & 9th I think)
4) Sapporo for Ramen (49th & 7th I think)
5) If you like Falafel, Taim used to come right by here, but hasn't lately due to the crack down on trucks, but Moshe's is good as well on 46th and 6th.
Enjoy! -
Having worked across the street at 1251, I can say all my mainstays were already listed here. The only others might be:
- Moishe's Falafel on 46th & 6th
- Cafe Cello on 46th & 6th
- Palin/Trump '12's favorite Pizza: Famous Famiglia on 50th & BWay(and unfortunately the sombrero cart relocated)

Hey guys, my office is currently on 42nd between 5th and 6th and I know the food options pretty well due to this site (thank you all!).
We are being temporarily moved for 6 months to the Time Life building on 51st and 6th. So I don't have to re-scour this site for food options, What are the best options close by??
Thanks!
