50th Street Taco Cart (w/ Sombrero) has moved to 54th and Madison

Oh no that means I have to walk an extra 50 yards!

I never liked their stuff. Did they really have a following?

Nice people, several steps above Taco Bell, inexpensive. What's not to like? It isn't froofy but it's an honest lunch.

I'm with Dave, I'll miss them

When I was working in the Exxon building, that cart was the source of many an afternoon food coma. Yum!

  8. They took the spot of the old Taco Guy who has been missing for a good 2-3 years now.... But they are nowhere near as good as he was. =(

Interestingly, 54th and Madison was their original spot, before they moved to 50th between 6 and 7 a few years ago (they were on 50th when I arrived in Midtown 3 years ago).

They were on 50th around 2002/2003 when I was working there.

It's crappy, pseudo-Mexican food. But if Taco Bell is your comparison, I suppose it is heavenly.

I wouldn't say crappy, but yes, it's American-Mexican. The chicken is nicely marinated and has far more flavor than anything at a comparable brick-and-mortar. The biggest reason I keep going back is because the folks running it are so friendly and nice.
