Too bad they won't do this every week. LOL.
I stopped eating there once a week since their prices are 7.50 now instead of 6.95 earlier and like 5.95 last year. I rather hit up the XPL across the street. It's cheaper and about the same amount of calories when you inhale cookie, soda, and sandwich w. fries at Gourmet 53.During their $3 special, they limited it to 1 lunch per person btw or what would stop people from placing orders of 50 lunches for their entire office. Unless you decide to wait on the crazy line 3 separate times??? They also tried to charge 1.25 for soda but I wouldn't bite. $3 lunch was all I needed.

keke, i paid $1.25 for the soda.
-
Who is keke?
-
keke is laughing notion. I'm not korean but I recognize it. ;P
man, people were just jacking their sodas anyway as usual, whether they paid for it or not.
-
keke, i didn't know keke was a korean thing.
anyawys, i went out and got myself a combo meal from XPL..$5 with a free can of soda..wow, pretty good and food ain't that bad either. -
I'm about to go do the same thing actually - hit up XPL near me. mkim, do I know you? lol. doubt it since we don't work for the same company but we have a similar occupation?
well, keke is an asian/korean thing. and i believe mainly girls do it. kinda weird for a dude btu never know...
-
I don't think i know you but we both seem like cheap bastards..lol i mean, keke. =)
-
what? you're the korean female version of me? that's sick! and i may be cheap but i still spend a lot on food throughout the week (heck, it's my largest expense usually - as well it should be). me gots to eat despite living my life of non-luxury.
xpl was good today. i got their falafel w. rice for the first time as a changeup. good tasting falafel!
-
well, let me know if you know any other cheap places around this area.
-
Haha. You probably figured out most of the cheap ones around us by now. There aren't too many. If you're willing to break the $10 ceiling, then you can eat whatever. ;P

I was thinking about checking out the japanese grocery/take out place on 47th street(bet lex and 3rd, next to Onya) tomorrow. Read the review here and sounds nice. $5.99 for a bowl of udon. I hate paying like $9 for a lousy bowl of udon from a deli.
-
Have fun with udon. Hope you like it. Not too into soba or udon. I'm really just a ramen fan.
-
I tried the ramen from menkui tei(sp?) a few weeks ago and i thought it was pretty good. only problem is it's abit too far from us. loved their dumplings.
