lunch is on my boss today, and since I had to reach a consensus with my picky coworkers, we ordered from Guy and Gallard. I ordered veggie chili, and a half a sandwich (avocado and cheddar) BUT they brought me half a wrap. Half a friggen wrap. There's nothing sadder than half a wrap. (The chili's not bad though.)

It's a funny thing. There's really nothing in the teachings that says you're supposed to cut out meat.

I learned that there were schools which will tell you that it's bad to eat meat that was killed for the purpose of feeding other people... but if you were handed some meat while doing your rounds of begging, and you didn't witness it's killing or suspect that it was killed for your consumption, then it's okay to accept it.

My family eats meat but twice a month we go vegetarian for the new and full moons.

Ascetics and Buddhist recluses up in the mountains of Japan don't eat meat. I don't know if they're malnourished though...

Does that depend on what kind of monk? Cuz I know Tibetan monks try not to eat any animals but this book I read said that because in the Himalayas it's hard to grow veggies, they do eat meat (yak cuz it's easy to get? or easier?) because otherwise they would die of starvation/malnutrition or something.

I thought monks don't eat any type of animal product. They're more strict than vegans because they can't eat certain veggies either like garlic, onions, etc.

El Rey del Sabor. Chicken taco pretty good, a little dry. Steak taco not good - meat was tough.

Sarah isn't a "REAL" vegetarian. Fish are still animals.

Fresco Tortilla's Tacos. Me like Tex-Mex dished out by the Chinese. lol.

I FINALLY went to Lena Latin Grill, across the street from my office (my boss was paying!!) I had a wrap with fish b/c I wasn't feeling tofu today. I got it w rice and avocado and chimichurri sauce. it was tasty but the chimichurri was SO vinegary. I'm not sure if its supposed to be like that, but I wasn't into it. I'd definitely go again, and though I'm full from my wrap I have to say it does look like the plates are the way to go. My coworker got the Fried Chicken plate and she scarfed it! Yay free lunch!
