Whoever commented about Uncle Jack's Steakhouse...this high-end, elite audience place has been offering a bargain $30 two pound broiled lobster with an ear of corn, mashed potatoes, etc. I walked by their location on 56th Street/6th in midtown Manhattan and decided to try it seeing the sign. Great value....

Oyster Bar at Grand Central. Oyster (or other seafood) stews arre about $10. At lunch they also have sandwich specials...they can be a bit spare, but are worth it, and all are under $10. If you eat it there, you'll also get a biscuit and flatbreads with butter for a little extra filler

Uncle Jack's (UncleJacks.com)in Midtown has a great selection of amazing seafood as well as prime aged beef. For $25 dollars you can order a rich lobster bisque, big and hearty enough for two. Go in for lunch on Tuesdays and wine is half off, accompany with a salad or appetizer and you have a great meal for two, inexpensive, and a bit better service and decor than Red Lobster! Best you can do in Midtown.

Well, I didn't even get to the service part at that location because they wouldn't seat my friends. I've been to Red Lobster before, just not the one in Times Sq. Red Lobster's food is crap for the most part. I like their cheddar biscuits and the fondue appetizer but everything else isn't special or fantastic for the prices they charge. I don't even order their lobster anymore (Cantonese-style lobster is a hundred times better IMO). I only order their shrimp when my friends want to go so might as well go to Bubba Gump's instead!

Ruby Tuesday's has good burgers. I've eaten in their downstairs and upstairs area. If you want good service and a good burger with unlimited fries, make sure to go upstairs. The downstairs is a limited menu.

I think people are ignoring what the original poster requested.

*affordable
*preferably steamed fish, crab legs

Just sayin'.

PS I've been to Bubba Gump's two or three times and found it inoffensive, like a themed Red Lobster. Actually I grew up going to Red Lobster 2-3x a month, though not the one in Manhattan (I don't think that was there), and as a kid always alternated between ordering steamed or fried flounder.

Wow. I can't believe what I am reading. Bubba Gump's? Really? I find that place DISGUSTING. And I've been dragged there more times than I care to remember. They use WAY too much butter in their dishes. I'd have to say that Red Lobster is much better. However, if I want seafood, I got to BXL with a friend in midtown east for the mussels. 2lbs for 17 bucks. Split it and you are golden. There are like 8 different sauces that you can try with it, too. Worried about filling up? Psssh. Do it right and dip your bread in the sauce and you will enjoy a good lunch. Best part is that at lunch, almost no one is there. After 6 PM, can't be there without unintentionally humping someone's leg.

The one time I went to Bubba Gump's, I liked it. There. I said it.

Red Lobster always holds a place in my heart because of the cheddar biscuits. I bet you can't get those at Le Bernadin!
