I am never sure whether to be reassured or worried that my firm has not yet laid off associates.

As for FG, I think she'll be okay. It's my understanding she's interested in public interest work. If her clients are the indigent in need of legal services then she should have the best job security out of all of us.

Also, Taqueria Verecruzana down in South Philly is a little scary but the quesadillas (Queso Oaxaca!!!) are awesome. Anybody know a good place for Oaxacan quesadillas in Manhattan???

NOLA Steve... yea, it's pretty bad... my firm keeps letting attorneys go. Maybe you'll luck out and get an offer for one of the firms that's been paying their first years to defer their first year... $80k to NOT work as opposed to $160 to give up your life... I'd take it.
