it was pretty damn filling. you would be surprised. but you can , always double or triple the ingredients. there was no major science behind this. It was just what I had on hand...

the whole mess filled an 8x8 cassarole dish past half way before i put on the crust.

1 can of tuna for 2 people? :) and for a half bag of noodles?? :)

Sure, the serving size of a can of tuna is "3oz", but thats still only what, 150 calories?

@adamprato: funny that a tuna pie sort of came up. I did just the exact thing in making use of pantry food a few nights ago.

1-can of tuna
1- can progresso NE clam chowder
1/2 bag of egg noodles
enough peas, spinach, corn, red/green pepper to add color and texture
some random spices

boil the noodles and set aside. saute the vegetables and tuna in a pan with some butter and OO. set aside

combine everything (soup, noodles, tuna, vegetables, etc) in a pot and simmer for a bit. add in what ever spices you think go into it. (i used old bay seasoning, paprika, black pepper and a little cayenne)

dump the whole mess into a buttered cassarole dish.

if it looks too watery, add some flour.

top with crushed up oyster crackers and shredded cheddar. drizzle on some OO to help brown it up

bake for about 15-20 minutes or until nice and crusty

I was surprised at how this came out as was my wife. usually pantry based dishes are not as well received. :)
