As long as it's not the CA government pushing their political agenda on me, then I am okay with it.</p> <p>I later mentioned this to other people who said it WAS a CA govt thing, but I tried Googling it and couldn't find any specific legislation on it. </p> <p>I don't appreciate having a political agenda pushed on me if this is the case, especially in light of it being something in which I don't believe. However, in the end, it came out to 54c (it's broken out separately from the tax on the final receipt, which I kept). </p> <p>Curiously, as a tangential offshoot of the other thread about tipping on alcohol, would you tip a little less because of this surcharge? </p> <p>Just wondering other people's thoughts. </p> <p>PS I am not here to discuss whether or not you believe in universal healthcare...
