Good call about Craft Beer Week -- I actually went to an amazing Beer Pairing dinner at Guilty Goose. They have a great craft beer selection and 8 beers on tap!

For someone who barely drinks beer, I've written about ALL of these places in the past. No one wants to suggest Blind Tiger or are you all sticking to midtown for your suggestions? Swift Bar?

Also no actual Happy Hour at Ginger Man.

There are plenty of places in the city with good beer and palatable food. This looks more like a shill for his "new site/newsletter".

You might want to try The Ginger Man at 36th and 5th. They have an encyclopedic beer collection, including cask conditioned ales. Their menu is part gastropub (Guinness stew, cheese platter) and part tasty downmarket (hot dog, pretzel, reuben).

It's a complete sh!tshow during happy hour, but delightfully snug and do-able at lunch and weekends.

So I am a huge fan of great food, esp. casual, authentic food such as you can find at great food trucks. For instance, there is a new food truck in my hood (Fort Greene) that specializes in interesting, off-the-wall and really tasty grilled cheeses (http://www.foodfreaks.com/). They even have one with braised short ribs! I also love the Frites n' Meats truck (http://www.fritesnmeats.com/) for its beefy goodness!

I am also a fan of great craft beer and have been reading about it through a new site/newsletter called Private Tap (http://www.privatetap.com). Great beer and great street food definitely go together. My question is does anyone know of other great places to learn about how beer and food pair up or where to find great beers in the City?

I know this goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Just because garbage is cheap, doesn't mean you should eat (or drink) it. How much care and effort do you think will be put into food made in a TGIF in Penn Station?
