Blondie, I did. No joke. My friend and I did after devouring their delicious burgers.

It was a nice walk around the community. Passover festivals all about.

hightemp, work for yourself and you can eat lunch at anytime...or take a day off.

I am a big fan of Dough ever since eating them at the Fort Greene flea market last year. When I heard Culture had them, I checked it out but to no avail. When ML posted then were now at Andaz, I bought a few of them this Monday despite the price and the smaller size. Chocolate frosted with cacao nibs is my fav. Def delicious at Andaz but the size did bother me esp at 3.30.

I had lunch this Weds at Luger's and decided to walk over to their shop in Bed-Stuy. WELCOME TO DONUT HEAVEN. I was very happy they were at a more respectable size. Prices were reasonable too. 2.25 for most of the donuts and 2.75 for their specials. I was fortunate to get a nutella cream and lemon meringue just before they sold out. Both are specials and very solid donuts.

No more return trips to Andaz.

Last week I was looking for a new place to try on LI and remembered a new(?) restaurant in Hempstead called Loli's Soul Food. The food was OUTSTANDING! I got the beef ribs with sweet potato's and stewed okra. The ribs were 1 large bone with a lot of meet on it and in the plate. It was super tender, a little sweet, a little fatty, and delicious. The sweet potato was sliced baked with cinnamon. It had perfect texture and sweetness. The okra was good too. It cost around $6 even though the menu said $12.

I highly recommend this place and can't wait to visit again.

I have yet to eat their pricey slice. I wanted to but they were closed when I got there. Not because of DOH. I didn't know they had lunch times and dinner times.

Maybe they will pass and re-open again soon.

Who next? Grimaldi's? :P

I've worked by Exchange Place since 2002 and it's still a work in progress. Typically there are around 6 lunch trucks parked in front of Harborside Plaza 10 and all are pretty good. You can forget Taqueria, too far and unless you have hours to burn, forget going to Hoboken, you can find just food just as good in Jersey City without the light rail hassle. Telly's sandwiches on Green Street is your best bargain for a good deli sandwich, Milano's is good but pricey and slow. Probably just easier to go to wiredjc.com and check out the dining section. cheers

There is a very respectable Halal chicken and rice card on Montgomery right in front of the exchange place Path station. Milanos - a good italian deli with big sandwiches. There's a big generic deli that opened up about a year ago across from the path station as well that has a great mongolian bbq station.

Sarah is right, Taqueria is great. I lived across the street from it for 2 years, but it is a little far from Exchange.

There are trucks that park somewhere over there too, but I'm not sure where since I was never around during lunch time.

That sucks, Lou. We have an office near the newport mall which is one lightrail stop away. There arent many non-chain options. If you're allowed a solid hour, I would hop the LR to Hoboken. There's plenty of decent spots near the station, including pizza.

Oh, there is a Naan King near echange place. Not a big fan, but it's probably your best chinese option.

The Taco Truck parks near there frequently. I'm a sucker for their carnitas and al pastor tacos.

I've also heard good things about the Lotsa Pasta truck that parks there but I've never tried it.

Azucar I think is near exchange place. It was featured on Bobby Flay's Throwdown for its cubanos sandwiches.
