Also, for you splurger vegetarian-types, there&#8217;s also the inclusion of Tenpenny&#8217;s roasted vegetables. You can check out the entire list at <a href="http://newyork.timeout.com/restaurants-bars/2031639/100best-dishes-and-drinks">Time Out&#8217;s website</a>.</p>
<p>And if you&#8217;re wondering whether or not it&#8217;s possible to eat through the entire list in a year, it is.  I&#8217;ve managed to do it the past two years in a row (<a href="http://www.eatthisny.com/2011/10/04/web-series/proof-i-ate-the-whole-thing/">here is video proof</a>), and plan on taking it on again this year over on my website <a href="http://www.eatthisny.com/">Eat This NY</a> if you want to play along.</p>

Cheap? Last time we checked, a $16 sandwich from Le Cirque (&#8220;as God intended, with a fine glass of the best Meursault&#8221;) is not cheap.&#8221;</em> (I love how everyone is picking on the sandwich from Le Cirque.) Just like Midtown Lunch, everything in the Time Out NY issue is under $10, and unlike NYMag they&#8217;ve listed a decent number of Midtown Lunch options.</p>
<p><span id="more-7730"></span></p>

<li><a href="http://newyork.timeout.com/newyork/article/restaurants-bars/76366/best-cheap-pizza">Best Pizza</a>: <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/category/lazzaras-pizza/">Lazzara&#8217;s </a>(38th btw. 7+8th)</li>

</ul>
<p>The issue also has <a href="http://newyork.timeout.com/articles/restaurants-bars/76374/best-cheap-eats-in-murray-hill">a whole section of picks dedicated to Murray Hill</a>, and a whole section <a href="http://newyork.timeout.com/articles/restaurants-bars/76371/best-cheap-eats-in-the-penn-station-area">dedicated to the best options in the Penn Station area</a>, including <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/2008/01/16/tinas-enters-the-cuban-food-battle-as-sophies-takes-two-steps-back-4-steps-forward/">Tina&#8217;s Restaurant</a> (on Mad btw. 33+34th), <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/2008/04/30/carls-cheesesteak-is-a-greasy-mess-and-i-mean-that-in-the-best-possible-way/">Carl&#8217;s Steaks</a> (3rd btw. 34+35th), <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/2009/01/08/baoguette-michael-huynh-banh-vietnamese-sandwich-mi-new-york-city-nyc/">Baoguette</a> (Lex btw. 25+26th), Djerdan (38th btw. 7+8th), <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/category/go-go-curry/">Go Go Curry</a> (38th btw. 7+8th), <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/2008/06/20/fay-da-bakery-elevates-the-lunch-box-buffet/">Fay Da Bakery</a> (34th btw. 7+8th), <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/2008/04/24/we-have-our-very-own-tasty-dumplings-at-mandoo-bar/">Mandoo Bar</a> (32nd btw. B&#8217;way+5th), and <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/category/pick-a-pita/">Pick a Pita</a> (8th btw. 39+40th.) Plus some great technically out of bounds spots like Mooncake Foods, and Minar (on 31st btw. B&#8217;way+5th).</p>
<p>I know it&#8217;s impossible to make these massive issues completely flawless, but there was one inclusion that I have to take issue with&#8230; I know that some of the items at the original Manganaro&#8217;s (on 9th Ave. btw. 37+38th) can top $10, but to include their next door neighbor on the list- the inferior Manganaro&#8217;s Hero Boy- is a travesty.  The only reason anybody would eat at Hero Boy, is because they&#8217;re scared of dealing with the ladies who run the original. On taste, the original is head and shoulders above Hero Boy. <a href="http://newyork.timeout.com/articles/restaurants-bars/9142/best-cheap-eats-in-new-york-city-everything-under-10">See the complete TONY Cheap Eats list here&gt;&gt;</a></p>

<p><a href="http://www.timeout.com/newyork/articles/features/69762/100-best">Time Out New York has released their &#8220;100 Best Things We Ate and Drank&#8221; in 2008 list</a>, and five different Midtown Lunches made the list. In their <a href="http://www.timeout.com/newyork/articles/restaurants-bars/69770/100-best-things-we-ate-in-2008/8.html">sandwich category</a>, three of the five choices were from Midtown, including the <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/blog/2008/06/11/sophies-cuban-new-york-city-times-pork-plantain-sandwich-nyc/">fried pork and plantain sandwich from Sophie&#8217;s Cuban</a>, the falafel <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/blog/2008/06/18/olympic-pita-laffa-pita-falafel-midtown-new-york-city-nyc/">sandwich from Olympic Pita</a> (on 38th btw. 5+6th), and the marinated white anchovy sandwich from <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/blog/category/wichcraft/">&#8216;wichcraft</a> (which I clearly have to try!).  The &#8220;pickle pork soup&#8221; from <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/blog/category/hing-won/">Hing Won</a> (on 48th btw. 5+6th) also made the list in the <a href="http://www.timeout.com/newyork/articles/restaurants-bars/69770/100-best-things-we-ate-in-2008/6.html">&#8220;Protein&#8221; category</a>; but most surprising was the inclusion of the Papri Chat from <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/blog/category/indus-express/">Indus Express</a> (also on 48th btw. 5+6th), which was selected in the <a href="http://www.timeout.com/newyork/articles/restaurants-bars/69770/100-best-things-we-ate-in-2008/5.html">&#8220;Street Eats&#8221; category</a>. I think Indus Express is a great Midtown Lunch&#8217;ing option, and I love to see them get love from Time Out New York, but I think if I was going to pick a best chaat in Midtown, I would have to go with <a href="http://midtownlunch.com/blog/2008/07/23/the-best-indian-street-food-in-midtown-translating-menu-taj-delhi-chat-chaat-new-york-city-manhattan-nyc/">Taj Delhi Chat</a> (on 6th Ave. btw. 37+38th). Maybe a side by side taste test is in order! (Has anybody already done this?)</p>
