Crisp’s Second Location is a Kick in the (Falafel) Balls to Midtown
While many places are struggling to remain open, it looks like Crisp the overpriced (but admittedly pretty tasty) falafel place on 3rd Ave. btw. 43+44th is expanding. They have a second location opening up in March on 40th Street btw. B’way+6th, in what seems like a microcosm of what’s happening more and more these days in Midtown. While this overpriced falafel place (which clearly has hopes of becoming a larger chain) expands, just one avenue away an old school Midtown falafel/kebab institution shuts its doors. If the current trend holds, it will probably be replaced by a Chiposimetromcpaxuropamanger.

…and here’s a pretty damn good offer if you can wait until 3pm to eat lunch

Crisp is very good. I’m a big fan if you don’t mind shelling out the cash. Plus they have good people working there. The falafel themselves are much better than most other local joints. Better than Kosher Deluxe, Moshe’s and Kwik Meal’s by a long shot. Olympic Pita and Bread & Olive are the only Midtown places I know of that have as good (or better) falafel…but Bread & Olive only gives you 3 friggin falafel!

@W&D – Zach posted that deal last month:

cool…guess that proves i’m not as big a midtown lunch groupie as you
i’m doing a piece soon on it…but one of my go-to lunches lately has been the Mexican Falafel Sandwich at Crisp. Yes, it’s $7.75, but it’s one of the most substantial falafels i’ve had in a while (at least since I was last in Amsterdam). Sometimes hard for me to finish. I bet it’s 1.5-2 times larger than any street cart falafel and the ingredients are fresher.
