FIG & OLIVE LUNCH COUNTER IS OPEN

And Blondie & Brownie have the first look.  “I selected the Roasted Vegetable Panini on Tomato Bread which at $6.50 was one of the cheapest things on the lunch menu.  The other paninis with meat and cheese were $8.50 and I think I remember the salads being over $10.” Fig & Olive Midtown is at 10 E. 52nd St. (btw. Mad+5th), 212-319-2002.

hmm.. i wish they would post their take-out menu on the window. i walked by yesterday too, and saw the regular menu on the window and was kind of put off by the dine-in prices.

Just grabbed the vegetable panini. No one else was getting to-go at 12:20. Staff was extremely nice. Sandwich was really good. The olive tapenade gave it a nice tang. Potatoes and salad rounded the meal out nicely. I think its a nice deal for $7.50.
