Amazingly, Midtown Now Has a Second Poke Restaurant
Last month, I was super stoked to discover Sons of Thunder was serving Hawaiian poke in addition to burgers and chicken sandwiches. Over the weekend, I walked by a brand new spot called Pokéworks. It’s a company from California that just opened a location on West 37th Street last week. Are the trendy fried chicken sandwiches being replaced by raw marinated fish??
I didn’t order any food, but plan to return soon to check it out. The menu consists of both signature creations and a build your own option. The prices start at $10.95 so it’s a bit over the traditional ML price point, but probably worth it when talking about raw fish.
For the non-fish eaters, there is a sous-vide chicken “poke” and a tofu poke. In addition to bowls, they’re doing poke salads and poke burritos. This is definitely a place I’m excited to check out in the coming days. And now we have poke available on both the east and west side of Midtown. Could it be a Christmas miracle?

just had a tuna poke at Jams (58 / 6 ) … not a ML by any stretch ($16) but further evidence that we are about to be poked to death
