Paris Baguette to Open a New Location in Midtown East

Thanks to a tip from Lunch’er Jenn, we’ve recently learned that the French-inspired Korean bakery chain, Paris Baguette, is opening its newest location on 52nd Street and Lexington Avenue! The new location is taking over the space formerly occupied by Jean Louis David Salon. Though the bakery has locations in Flushing and Bayside, you may remember Blondie and Brownie‘s favorite sugar rushes and Clay’s favorite savory dishes from the K-Town location that opened in 2010. Looking forward to my personal favorite Feuilletee Chocolate and Sweet Potato Pastries for breakfast!

  • Wow, so close to my work. Is this their first location targeting non Koreans?
I always wonder if they use butter as they claim to do. I think they use margarine, not butter from the texture of their patries but this is a whole new different discussion.

They’re also opening a location on 7th Ave between 40th and 41st, next to a not-yet-open Wasabi chain from UK. From the looks of the window covering, it looks like this Paris Baguette is taking over the entire building, not just the ground floor.

I am a Korean and I used to look down upon this chain… A generic chain brand owned by a big enterprise focusing on business expansion rather than quality, killing all fine mom & pop bakeries in the neighborhood. And now in New York, it seems so popular. What could have gone wrong?
