Midtown Getting Another German Beer Hall

Midtown already has Bierhaus on 3rd Ave., but now Midtown West is set to get some German beer action. Reichenbach Hall is under construction on 37th St. between 5th and 6th Aves. Their signage and website promises beer, schnitzel, and sausage, but there’s no word on when they’ll open their doors. Anyone excited for more German lunch options, or maybe just a place to grab a few liters of lager after work?

  • I’m bracing myself for some of the wurst puns yet to come in comments.

  • The owners formerly owned David Copperfield’s on the UES and Hop Devil Grill on St. Marks. This new German beer hall (how unique!) is what Bill and Keith are plowing the proceeds from those ventures into.

It’ll make for a possibly interesting place to drink after being at Ginger Man until it fills up after work. I guess.

If this place even comes close to the Pilsener Haus in Hoboken, it will be packed day and night. Based on on the construction photos, looks like they are on the right track. Zum Schneider still has the most authentic Schnitzel in the tri-state area, but the space/neighborhood absolutely sucks. Pilsener Haus is the best beer hall/restaurant this side of the Munich Hofbrauhaus or the Salzburger Augustinerkeller.

  • FREAK OF THE WEE…….

    *sigh*
