They are all over China, and I had to eat at them with my expat boss, because that's what was edible to him. They had a few random digestible fried rice dishes, but the worst part about Ajisen Ramen (and most restaurants) over there is the cigarette-borne miasma that "welcomes" customers. They are a Japanese ramen chain. I've walked by this plenty of times but haven't the Heart to eat there since I been enough times to the Flushing location so never to this location in Chelsea or Chinatown. California rolls, I suspect, are pre-made and ready to pop into bento boxes when they're ordered, but when you try to order the two-roll lunch special, the waitress will warn you that it will take a long time. When I sat down, a woman was receiving her first roll, and her friends had already finished their lunches. The waitress said her second roll would be coming shortly. When my friend tried to order two rolls (not California, but simple rolls like spicy tuna and salmon avocado), the waitress told her that it would be a better idea to order a bento box.
